A step above the usual Pinot Gris. Elk Cove takes some serious pride in their work. More do it than most Pinot Gris, and you will tell right away. One reason is this wine uses the Alsatian method of producing wine (see Below). Even better and more practical, you can get this wine for $20ish at the vineyard, with a fantastic view of the vineyard. If you cannot make it to the vineyard, you can also buy it a for a bit less at the supermarket, with a view of produce and / or house goods.
PS f you can find the Elk Cove Pinot Blanc, get that.
Goes well with – food friendly with lighter fare, acting grown up.
Fun fact – As mentioned above, this wine is made using the Alsatian method from (you guessed it) Alsace, France. More body and structure than other Pinot Grigio or Gris.
