LA FINCA MARTIN – SPANISH RIOJA

You know those wines when after the first sip, you think, “Holy crap that is good, the world isn’t so bad after all”?

That is this wine.   Seems like it would cost much more, given how it balances from a light wine that could stand up to some serious heavy, winter food.

Goes with – really versatile wine.   Can be enjoyed by the glass, all the way up to something Henry XII would enjoy. But don’t waste this wine on a subpar meal.  Give it some respect. I had it for Turkey Day!

Fun Fact – just as Bordeaux is divided into subregions, Rioja is divided into 3 regions – Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa, and Rioja Baja.  This is from Rioja Alta.
